VAHS MTB is the official USA Cycling interscholastic mountain bike race series. Sanctioned by USA Cycling, VAHS offers competitive racing for riders of all ability levels. The series is open to ANY high school, middle school, or elementary school student.

Each event has separate Lower Elementary School (Grades 1 &2), Upper Elementary (Grades 3-5), Middle School A & B (Grades 6-8), Freshman, Sophomore, JV, and Varsity races for both girls and boys. Most races are on primarily single-track trails and are multiple-lap events to provide a spectator-friendly experience for coaches and parents. Racers do NOT need to be on a school team to participate nor do racers need to have any race experience. VASH MTB Series is open to public school, independent school, and home school students.

Founded in 2010, the VAHS MTB Series has been providing a professional and enjoyable interscholastic racing experience for competitors and spectators for over a decade. It his the nation’s largest USA Cycling Junior mountain bike series. For those new to racing, it is an ideal introduction to mountain bike racing. For experienced racers, the Varsity races provide some of the most competitive racing in the country. If you like to mountain bike and are considering racing, this is your chance.
