The course is set on the South-West side of the trail network. It begins with an uphill 1.5-mile prologue on an open gravel road and grassy double-track. It then loops back past the start/finish and heads to the south-west side of the mountain. From here, riders will climb a gravel road and enter technical singletrack. All riders will climb on rocky trails that reward smooth and careful riding. For those familiar with HooHa!, this section overlaps with HooHa! course. Each wave will do an additional section of trail that increases the length and difficulty of course. Varsity riders will ride the new SpecialK trail just completed this fall. Riders will then descend to flowing berms before entering the finishing chute.
- Course is longer than previous races. Give yourself adequate time to preride.
- Course has more rocks than previous races. Make sure you are prepared with adequate tires and flat-repair gear.
Riders who raced in RACE 1 or 2 do not need to register or pick anything up on race day. Riders MUST BRING RACE PLATE FROM previous races. There is no check-in. Riders simply need to be in staging area on-time. For new riders, registration is under the tent near the picnic area. Coaches should have signed USAC waivers ready to go for all NEW athletes on team. NEW racers will be issued chip timing number that will be used for the entire season. It is important that returning racers bring the same number to every race. Replacement numbers cost $25 each.
Course is open to pre-ride on Saturday morning between 9:30 AM and 11:30 AM. Course closes promptly at 11:30. No riders are allowed to enter course after 11:30. Riders must have registered for race and signed waiver before departing on pre-ride. Race numbers must be displayed on all bikes of riders pre-riding course. Coaches may ride with athletes during pre-ride, but family/friends may not.
Each registered team is provided a 10x10 (10x20 for teams with over 15 riders) in the "TEAM ZONE" located next to the start/finish. Teams may bring tents and other equipment into their team zone. Vehicles and trailers are NOT allowed in this area, so teams need to carry equipment from parking area to team zone.
Parking is available in large grass field when you enter main entrance. Follow signs.
Porto-pots will be available in Parking Area.
Neutral water is NOT provided at this venue. Bring all your own water and race food. NO WATER SOURCE AT VENUE.
