2026 NATIONALS TEAM INFORMATION

ABOUT

USA Cycling National Championships is just up the road this summer in Roanoke, Virginia. VAHS MTB invites you to apply to race for the official VAHS-Sports Nationals Team. VAHS has partnered with Cutaway USA and local pro rider Gordon Wadsworth to create a team for VAHS competitors to prepare & race as a unified squad this summer. Team will include riders in the following categories: 13-14, 15-16, UCI 17-18, UCI U23.

VAHS had a Nationals Team way back in 2018 when USA Cycling held National Championships in Snowshoe, West Virginia. It was an awesome experience and was a launching point for a number of riders now racing professionally in the UCI World Cup and on road cycling teams.

  • Marathon

  • XCC Short Track

  • XCO Olympic Cross-Country

SUPPORT

  • Age-appropriate summer training plan

  • Race-week support in VAHS Large Team Zones at XCO and XCC (both large team lot and on course)

  • Pro mechanic for race-day needs

  • Course preview with skills instructor & course designer Gordon Wadsworth for each age category.

  • Feed Zone support (Tech Zone support for XCO Junior 17-18 & U23 races)

  • Team Sprinter Van, Trailer, Lounge Area for team

GEAR & EQUIPMENT

  • VAHS x Cutaway Team Jersey

  • 2 pairs of new exclusive VAHS socks

  • VAHS Podium hat & t-shirt

  • Team Helmet (non-custom)

  • Gloves

  • Cutaway Bibs (size availability depedent)

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Eligible to compete in a National Championship event in one of the following age group Championship Races

    • 13-14, 15-16, UCI Junior 17-18, UCI U23

  • You must have competed in the VAHS MTB Series in the past

  • Register and race at least one event at USA Cycling National Championships

  • Register for the team before June 10

  • Wear full VAHS kit at Nationals at all times

  • Provide your own lodging, meals, transportation, and supervision at Nationals

  • Serve as ambassador for VAHS at all times during the race week

Team Fee: $950

Equipment/Clothing Cost: $250-670 (depending on helmet/bib shorts needs)
